So much for learning 12 new words a day, huh? Well, actually a lot has been going on here, no surprise. Since I'm applying to teach in Belgium next year, Paul is helping me learn German!

That means, I'm taking this blog step-by-step through all my vocabulary units. Besides, the best way to learn a language is through repetition, so writing it here is one more etch into my memory :)

Sadly, I got into a decent accident today on the freeway and most likely said goodbye to my car for the last time. Since I'm not injured and walked away, I feel like making light of the situation and taking the opportunity to learn accident vocabulary in a different language.

Crêpes Normandes (recette)

Ingrédients

• 125 g de farine
• 30 g de beurre
• 10 g de sucre
• 3 oeufs
• 3 dl lait
• 2 cuil à soupe d'eau
• 2 cuil à café de calvados
• pincée de sel
• 1 petite pomme par crêpe
• 1 citron
• 3 cuil à soupe de miel
• 15 cl de cidre (je préfère le brut)
• cannelle
• beurre
• sucre glace
• crème fouettée

Préparation

1.) Dans un saladier, verser la farine et les oeufs, le beurre fondu, le sucre. Puis progressivement ajoutez le lait et l'eau tout en mélangeant avec votre fouet. Ajoutez le sel et le calvados. Votre préparation ne doit pas avoir de grumeaux !!!

2.)  Faites reposer la pâte pendant 3- 4 heures.

3.) Faites cuire les crêpes dans une poêle adéquate, légèrement huilée. Gardez-les au chaud soit dans du papier alu, soit dans une assiette sur une casserole d'eau bouillante (la vapeur les empêchera de sécher et les gardera chaudes).

4.) Lavez les pommes, ôtez le coeur et les pépins et taillez-les en lamelles fines. Faites les sauter à la poêle avec du beurre, le jus du citron, le miel, la cannelle (selon goût) et mouillez avec le cidre. Laissez réduire pendant 5 min.

5.) Disposez les tranches de pommes sur les crêpes pliées en rosaces. Arrosez avec le jus et saupoudrez de sucre glace. Servez sans attendre, accompagné de crème fouettée.
